Wattle Tree Country Retreat is a homestead and acreage designed to bring a rural, country experience together with quality care for those who need it most.
Wattle Tree Country Retreat owner/manager Chelsea Thompson, who has been working in the mental health and disability sectors for over 20 years, said the site will provide support in a country environment, focusing on independence and individuality.
"We cater for a whole range of disabilities and mental health. Generally, carers have their adult children living at home with them, so it is also for families who need some support." she said.

"[The retreat] is just a little bit different because we are out in the country, everyone can meet the animals, we have some bush cooking and we do some gold detecting and other country based activities."
Wattle Tree is proud to offer a hands on approach to respite where people can get in and help with the day to day running of the farm and go on outings tailored to the needs and wants of the guests.
The homestead, which is set on a 20 acre property, was opened in Amherst at the beginning of April.
OTHER NEWS:
"The majority of our animals are rescues and we try to use all local produce for our services."
Ms Thompson said she has been working in the industry for a considerable time and enjoys helping those who need it.
"I have been in the disability industry for over 20 years," she said.
"It is all about working with people. [Wattle Tree Country Retreat] allows us to make a difference to people's lives. The smiles and the thanks you get from the people you help really go a long way."
