Mellor Monumental's stranglehold on top spot further strengthened, while Carey Cover's celebrated their first win of the season and in the process created a logjam between third and fifth spots.

Mellor Monumental had to work hard to keep their unbeaten start to the season alive, coming from behind to notch up their third straight victory.

Middy's Electrical went into half time with a one-point lead, with Vanilla Ika doing a bulk of the damage, however picking up four fouls in the process.

Mellor Monumental's Owen Summers took advantage of this, rallying the troops, and with the help of Alana Graveson on the scoreboard.

With the Lockwoods, Ernest and Jordan, playing their role, Mellor Monumental were able to come away with a nine point victory.

Middy's Electrical's Arlo Hastings, Tom Collins and Jack Stevens provided valuable support to Ika, however fell short, and will now have a couple of weeks to lick their wounds, with the bye coming up next week.

Despite missing key personnel, Carey Cover's saluted for the first time this season, with Rhez Campbell taking centre stage in what was an even contest all night.

Campbell led the way, with Bailey Cowen and Jalen Lockwood following his lead, and with Charmaine Lockwood also troubling the scorers, Carey Cover's would hold on and stay within striking distance of the top four.

For Brian Thomas Electrical, Hunter Thomas, Teepika Jones and Ryan Henke assisted Jack Clementson in keeping things tight, however they would fall three points short, and now have the unenviable task of taking on the unbeaten ladder leaders next week.
