After completing a strong preseason focused on player development and recruitment, Navarre are ready to get back on the court and the field for the first time since 2019. The club will make the trip to face Harcourt, a side who has been up high on the MCDFNL ladder for a number of years.
2019 was a challenging year for Navarre in the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League as they finished 11th on the ladder with five wins to their name.
Meanwhile Harcourt finished sixth on the ladder, claimed a 51 point win over Talbot in an elimination final before falling to Trentham in a semi-final.
But senior coach Jimmy Driscoll isn't worried about their round one opposition.

"To be honest I don't really know too much about anyone else, Carisbrook and Lexton are always hard to beat, but I'm more worried about us and perfecting the way we want to play," he said.
"I think if we play the way we want to and know we can, then it doesn't matter who we are playing against."
Navarre last defeated Harcourt in round two 2017, on their way to finishing as runners-up of the MCDFNL seniors.
OTHER NEWS:
The last time the two sides played, Harcourt piled on goals to win by 140 points in 2019, but much has change since then.
The Navarre netballers will also be tested early in the season as they take on a Harcourt side coming off a strong 2019 season.
The netballers are out to snap a three game losing streak in the A Grade against Harcourt with their last clash a 60 goal loss to the Lions.
