Despite last year's having to be cancelled, the 2021 Safe Plate Day is going ahead thanks to the efforts of the Neighbourhood Watch, Stawell and Warracknabeal Police and the SES.
"Our last one was two years ago and it was quite successful," Warracknabeal Neighbourhood Watch honourary secretary Marion Addinsall said.
People can get their existing number plates secured with anti-theft screws at no cost.

The anti-theft screws are put into place by police and SES.
Warracknabeal Police sergeant Kylie Newell said all they ask is a gold coin donation for the Warracknabeal Neighbourhood Watch.
"It's a good idea that people do get their number plates secured that way can't get stolen from their vehicle and used in other crimes such as petrol drive-offs and burglaries," Sergeant Newell said.
The Safe Plate Day will be held at the Warracknabeal IGA car park from 9am to 12pm on Saturday, April 17.
