Over the next few weeks residents between Stawell and Murtoa may notice an aeroplane flying relatively low down as the minerals mining company surveys the area.
During day the plane will be travelling at 80 metres high over non-residential sites and and 150 metres above towns and houses.
North Stawell Minerals will survey the area using a light aircraft fitted with gravity-sensing equipment to measure the Earth's natural gravity field variations.

These variations occur due to the rocks' density, showing surveyors which areas contain barren country rock, and which areas may hold more valuable resources.
The assessment are will be mostly north of Glenorchy and will also cover the areas of Wal Wal and Lubeck.
Aerial gold exploring activities are relatively common in the Wimmera, including with Stavely Minerals who used similar technology earlier this year.
In February community members in Willaura, Wickliffe, and Lake Bolac also had low-flying aircraft pass overhead with ground assessments taking place.
