The rescued climber, who became trapped at Mt Arapiles on Thursday afternoon, has been flown to a Melbourne hospital and is in a serious condition.
Ambulance Victoria said a man was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital by the Air Ambulance helicopter after an incident at Mt Arapiles yesterday afternoon.

Stawell SES controller Alan Blight said the Horsham, Stawell and Ararat SES responded to the incident to help rescue the man from the cliff face.
READ MORE:
Mr Blight said the man was about 30 metres above the ground and the cause of the incident is unknown at this stage.
Mr Blight said about 8-9 SES officers were involved with the rescue including others from the FRV and CFA.
"The biggest challenge, especially in what they call a mid-face pick-off is accessing the person," he said.
"So the SES have to set scaling equipment and abseiling gear to get down and assess the person."
