Voting for the Northern Grampians Shire Council Kara Kara Ward by-election is closing soon with voters urged to get their votes in before the deadline.

Voters in St Arnaud and surrounds are reminded they have until 6pm Friday, 19 February to vote in the by-election where they are looking to find a replacement after the resignation of Karen Hsylop late in 2020.
Residents in the Kara Kara Ward must preference the four candidates; Eddy Ostarcevic, Timmy Heydon, Catriona Thoolen and Terence Robertson.

Completed ballot material must be posted before final local mail clearance times in this final week of voting and voters should check their local mail clearance time, which may be earlier than 6pm or earlier in the week.
Alternatively, it can be hand-delivered by the 6pm deadline to the election office located at Media Centre, Grandstand 1, Central Park, 14-28 Main Street, Stawell.
Voters who still haven't received their ballot pack should call the election office immediately on 1300 128 940 to arrange an alternative.
Extended hours apply from 9am to 8pm on Thursday, 18 February and 9am to 6 pm on Friday, 19 February.
Voting is compulsory for voters who were on the State roll for this by-election at 4pm Friday, 18 December 2020, and those who do not vote may be fined.
Council-enrolled voters are encouraged to vote, but will not be fined if they do not vote.
