It is unknown how the damage occurred and Stawell police are appealing for any information regarding the incident.
"If the incident was due to a traffic collision, it is disappointing to think that someone may be aware of the damage they have caused to the victim's vehicle, and made the decision to leave the scene without reporting the matter to police or attempting to make contact with the owner of the vehicle," a police spokesperson said.
If anyone has any information that could assist with the investigation, contact Stawell Police on 03 5358 8222, quote incident number 210036048 and ask for Senior Constable Thomas or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
