Stawell SES crews are on scene at a collision on the Western Highway in Great Western.
At this stage the Western Highway is closed in both directions.
Drivers are asked to please avoid the area if possible and remember to slow to 40kmh for slow moving or stopped emergency vehicles.
The Department of Transport state motorists should allow extra time for the detour using Stawell-Avoca Road to Navarre, then take Ararat-St Arnaud Road to return to the highway.
The closure is under the control of Victoria Police. The highway will re-open when investigations are complete and it's safe to do so.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Great Western this morning.
Investigators have been told a car and a truck collided on the Western Highway about 10am.
The driver and only occupant of the car, believed to be a man in his 60s, died at the scene.
The male driver of the truck was trapped in his vehicle for a short time before being released and taken to hospital for treatment.

His female passenger did not require treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are still being established.

Serious delays expected due to a serious vehicle collision in Great Western,
Main Street is closed in both directions near Locke Street.
Emergency services are attending and police are on site directing traffic.
A spokesperson from Ambulance Victoria said ambulances services were called at 10.04am to a report of a collision involving cars and a truck.
A man believed to be in his 20s was mechanically trapped in the vehicle in a stable condition with leg injuries. It looks like he'll be taken to Ballarat Hospital by road ambulance.
Another man is in a stable condition and does not appear to need transport.
A woman believed to be in her 20s and three children do not appear to be injured.
Drivers are being asked to follow the directions of police on site.
