The exact amount of funding the Stawell Grampians Gate Caravan Park will receive is yet to be announced, but it will share in more than $2 million set aside for improvement projects at 19 other sites across regional Victoria.

Owner and manager of the park Marianne Braam said she was very excited for renovations to begin in the park as they look to give all of their toilet blocks a face-lift.

"We are going to get our amenities blocks brought into the 21^st century," she said.

"The funds really are needed, some tiles are cracked, dated and falling off the walls. We get a lot of reviews on them which say 'clean but dated', so we are going to upgrade them.

"They were put in back in the '50s and we have got every cents worth out of them.

"The buildings themselves are still fantastic, they just needed another touch up and then they will do another 50 years I hope."

Ms Braam said she and her husband will be working with the Northern Grampians Shire Council as the planning and designing process begins.

"We also have a baby bathroom, that has got no stairs going into it, so we are going to turn that into a disabled and family-friendly bathroom and we will be doing all that in conjunction and discussion with council," she said.

"Most of the grant will be going to that and us and the council we be as thrifty as we can to see if we can take that money as far as we can, because there is always other things to do around the place."

Ms Braam also said the summer tourist season had been very busy, with many more people choosing to stay at their caravan park recently.

"It's been a lot busier (than normal). I've always said we have been quiet during Christmas and January because people go to the beaches and the lake, but we've never been busy at Christmas and in January like we have this year," she said.

"This might have been due to restrictions in other caravan parks and people just getting out Melbourne and stretching their legs.

"I don't know if some people might normally have gone to Queensland or overseas, and that has made us a lot busier."

The Victorian Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D'Ambrosio said the funding for parks across the state was important for catering to tourists and boosting business in the state's regions.

"It's great to see families now back enjoying affordable camping and caravan holidays and these upgrades will help to make their experiences even more memorable," she said.

"This is a great boost for our regional towns when they need it most - creating local jobs while attracting more visitors through improved facilities."

Ms Braam said she was very excited for work to begin.

"We have a lot of return guests, and they know its been in the pipeline for a while, so I can't wait to see their reaction and the reviews, so its very exciting," she said.

"We are the very appreciative of the government putting some money into their parks and of the council for working with us, we are looking forward to it."
