Mininera and District Football League's reigning premier Great Western is strengthening its squad for the 2021 season after announcing a number of key signings.

On Sunday the club announced the signing of winger Daniel Clee Jnr, who will join the club from Darwin.
Daniel Clee Jnr plays for the Tracey Village Razorbacks in the Northern Territory Football Association and the club is hoping he will join the team in March.
2021 senior assistant coach Matt Delzotto said he club couldn't wait for Daniel Clee Jnr to pull on the Lions jumper.
"He is predominantly a wing half-forward, mid-sized with electric pace and good skills," he said.

"He can also be a goal kicker from that wing position which will be exciting.
"Especially on the little oval at Great Western, he'll be able to break the game open with some pace and skill so he definitely brings plenty to the table.
"Hopefully, he'll be down a couple of weeks before the season starts."
"The local competition up there finishes in late February, so after a few weeks of rest and recovery he'll be down here some time in March," he said.
Mr Delzotto said Clee Jnr will be joined by 2019 premiership player Bradley Palipuaminni and captain Nigel Sibson who are both playing football in the Northern Territory during the Victorian off-season.
Despite these strong signings early in the pre-season, Mr Delzotto is wary of the competition.
"It's pretty hard to tell, with everyone having a year off, you don't hear too much about the other clubs in the league at the moment," he said.
"But, we have also had the Folkes brothers come across, and with the success we have had in recent years we will look to be really competitive and hopefully play finals footy.
"But it's too early to try and put a stamp on it because everyone is scrambling at this time of year a getting everything back up and running for the 2021 season."
The club will also return to preseason training on Thursday January 21 at the Great Western recreation reserve.
