LESS than 48 hours after its removal, the permit system is back in place for all interstate travellers entering South Australia.
The decision comes after a COVID-19 outbreak in New South Wales grew to 28 confirmed cases on Friday.
South Australian Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said it was safest to reinstate the permit system for travellers from all states.
"This is being done so those people who may have been in New South Wales in the recent past but came through a different jurisdiction can be identified," he said.
"We are asking people on that application process to disclose if they have been in the Northern Beaches local government area since December 11.
"We are treating the Northern Beach local government area as a high community transmission zone."
