Former high-level businessman Terrence Robertson has thrown his hat in the ring, calling on his expertise in commercial advertising and information technology to assist the local government.

"My specialty was always in financial analysis, legal documentation and the optimization of resources," he said.
"I did my work in organizations with much bigger turnovers than the Council, and I thought there's probably not too many people with that background and I can make a contribution. I've got good experience across a broad range of things."
Mr Robertson said his eye for detail would reap rewards at the council.

"The Northern Grampians have a number of interesting project ideas that I would be interested in making sure they come to fruition," he said.
"Community members have some great ideas, but there's a lot that run out of stream.
"With my commercial background, I believe we could free up some cash and resources, that could be used to be doing these extra things."
With a background in property, Mr Robertson said he'd also focus on attracting local and intrastate tourists.
"We need to better utilize our natural assets," he said.
While we don't have issues with graffiti, if you go to a nice park you can sit down because the benches are falling apart. We aren't maintaining our assets which means people aren't using them.
" think we needed a clearer understand of what we are about. Our tourism strategy is unclear. I think we should encourage locals to embrace what we can offer.
"From an economic point of view, we should encourage businesses to open in the shire. I've heard of people driving to Bendigo or Ballarat to save money. We can't watch our businesses close one by one."
