The event is well-known in the golfing community as a support to the Challenge charity, a not for profit charity raising money for kids with cancer.
More specifically the funds go to towards Jarrod's Gift.
Jarrod's Gift is a legacy set up in support of their ambassador Jarrod Lyle who was an Australian pro golfer and was battled with his own cancer issues three times, finally succumbing to the disease in 2018.
Lyle knew firsthand the hardship that young people and their families face when battling this disease.
Golf clubs across Australia are asked to set aside one day a year to run this charity day, raising funds towards this cause.
OTHER STORIES:
Club captain Michael Kelly said it was important to host fundraising events as the club are willing to support others, either within our community or on a broader scale such as Challenge charity.
"It makes it easy to be able to do this while playing the game we as members enjoy so much," he said.
"We ask a lot from our community for sponsors so it's a great chance to give back.
"This is the second year the event has been held since Jarrod passed away, and the first time we have hosted the day.
"Hopefully it will become an annual event, being that it revolves around golf.
"As golfers we cover a large age demographic from teenagers through to members well into their 80's plus. This event is well supported throughout Australia by many golf clubs."
Players will play a round with a yellow ball in honour of the charity. For more information, head to the club's Facebook page.
