Northern Grampians Shire Council mayor Murray Emerson said this is a time to actively promote gender equality and take a stand to end men's violence against women.
"We are running a number of programs and initiatives to support the campaign, including interactive art displays, information sharing ad promotion of community services and taking a stand as community leaders against all violence in our communities," Mr Emerson said.
Instead of the community Walk Against Violence, which would normally take place on November 25, an interactive art piece will be displayed on Stawell's main street.
Pedestrians can add a handprint to the artwork on Wednesday, November 25 from 2pm to 4pm, on Thursday, November 26 from 10am to 12pm and on Friday, November 27 from 9am to 11am.
Northern Grampians Libraries will also be hosting a respectful storytime, with a focus on equality and respect aimed at younger generations.
All 79 Victorian councils and 18 specialist non-government organisations are involved in the campaign.
For more information, visit the Respect Victoria website and keep an eye on council's social media channels for updates and information during the next 16 days.
