Carey Covers breathed new life into the competition, comfortably accounting for the previously unbeaten Stawell Toyota side, while Mitre 10 reigned triumphant in a tight clash with cellar dwellers Stawell Goldmine.
Carey Covers took full advantage of a depleted Stawell Toyota line up, with a comprehensive 15 sets 150 games to 9 sets 115 games victory over the competition pace setters.
While Stawell Toyota still find themselves firmly ensconced in the top two, questions were asked of them by Carey Covers and they failed to find the answers.
Malcolm Raggart, Stevie Johnston, Emily Davis and Hugh Carey, all in sensational touch for the winners, with the latter wielding his brand-new racquet with aplomb.
Carel Chang and junior Larna Graveson all provided valuable support for Carey Covers, who will go into next week's clash with their confidence sky high and riding a tidal wave of momentum after toppling their more fancied rivals.
Youngster Tom Monument played a lone hand for Stawell Toyota, winning all three sets, and will be hoping for a better performance from his teammates next week, as the ladder leaders look to rebound.
Mitre 10 notched up their second consecutive victory, and now find themselves knocking on the door of the top two, just out by percentage, following their 13 sets 141 games to 11 sets 132 games win over Stawell Goldmine.
Round four of the competition threw up a surprise.
Mitre 10 were paced by the usual faces, with the same names popping up each week in the winner's circle.
Leon Monaghan, Richard Dodds and Jemima Harney all unbeaten on the evening.
Opposition brains trusts will need to find a weakness in the arsenal of these three before seasons end, as they hold the keys to their season.
Anna Sullivan and Elise Monaghan had terrific nights for Stawell Goldmine, who welcomed back the return of Andrew Dunn, however his powerful presence wasn't quite enough, falling agonisingly short as they continue to search for that elusive first victory.
