The new public company, floated on the ASX last September and raised $20 million for gold exploration, has based its geological team in Stawell.

NSM chief executive Steve Tambanis said the organisation had thoroughly researched historic exploration records to design the Wildwood drilling program using state-of-the-art technology.

"We have developed 3D interpretations of the Wildwood's geology and mineralisation and several other tenements we have in the Stawell Mineralisation Corridor from Stawell to Murtoa," Mr Tambanis said.

"Old knowledge, plus new ideas, give us tremendous confidence that we'll be drilling as accurately as possible and we look forward to reporting drill results over the next few months."

The drill sites will be about 30 metres by 30 metres and sample drill holes will be a minimum of 75m deep.

The initial 24/7 drill schedule is expected to continue until the end of March, with a short stop for Christmas.

Mr Tambanis said there were five target areas along the five kilometre Wildwood tenement, which is largely basalt dome hosted and very similar to Stawell Gold Mine's Magdala dome.

"We are working closely with landholders on a schedule that minimises interruption to their daily operations and we thank them for their cooperation," he said.
