Last week the Stawell Primary School grade 3 pupils took on the annual 'Stawell 502 Gift' at Central Park.
Normally held closer to the main Stawell Gift event, held across the Easter long weekend, the Stawell 502 Gift was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the 139th iteration of the Stawell Gift also delayed due to the coronavirus, the pupils were able to mark a historic event.

"This event has always been an exciting opportunity for the students," said Grade 3/4 teacher Lisa Fleming.
"However, this year they will go down in history as the only athletes to run in a Stawell Gift for 2020.
"After touring the Stawell Gift Hall of Fame and learning about the history of Stawell's famous footrace, students donned Gift coloured singlets and ran the prestigious 120m length at Central Park."
Alyza Robinson and Edward Bibby were the two winners for the day, each receiving a sash, the bullet from the starter gun, a giant cheque and a bag of other prizes.
"Thank you to the Stawell Athletics Club and Commonwealth Bank of Stawell for their support and for their kind donations." Mrs Fleming added.
