Jarrod Blandford will return from Ballarat Cricket Association power, East Ballarat to captain the side.

The returning skipper said it was hard to predict how the season would pan out, with all the uncertainties arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Yeah (I'm happy to move back). It comes to a stage where you have to," he said.

"It's hard to know (what the competition will be like), after being away for a couple of years. I stayed in touch a little bit, but it's hard to know with all the latest around COVID who's going to commit to the whole season.

"A lot of people have got used to having their weekend free, so it's hard to know what's going to happen and how it's all going to play out.

"You know there might be some clubs that pick up a handful of players, who might just be sick of being at home as well."

Joining Blandford at the club is a host of recruits, who could lead the side on a serious premiership tilt.

"Michael Harricks is coming back out. He's played a year, or a couple years for St Andrews. Tyler Cronin is coming out from Aradale to jump on board because he wants to be playing A Grade," Blandford said.

"Michael is an all-rounder, and Tyler is probably a top-order batsman.

"There are some good young kids coming through too, like Henry Armstrong. He'll probably take the new rock for us this year and (we'll) give him every opportunity to shine."

Despite the fruitful off-season, and excitement building around the club with the introduction of another senior team, Blandford remained bullish about his side's early games.

"It's hard to say. It's been a pretty funny year, as you can imagine. So, it's hard to get a gauge on who's really going to commit in the early stages," he said.
