As of 9pm on Thursday Halls Gap had recorded 6.4mm of rain according to the Bureau of Meteorology from 9am.
Mt William had received 41.2mm in the same time frame.
The wild weather brought trees down through the area - Stawell SES attended to calls for assistance in Halls Gap.
Weather is set to improve over the next few days, with a predicted top of 14 and clearing showers for the Halls Gap area on Friday.
