A lack of nominations has left a ward empty in the Northern Grampians Council 2020 elections.

The VEC has now updated to reflect the following changes;
- Karen Hyslop who previously held a position on the Stawell ward and had nominated for the Stawell ward in 2020 has nominated in Kara Kara
- Tony Driscoll who previously held a position on Kara Kara ward has now nominated for the Kara Kara ward.
At the close of nominations the number of candidates that had nominated for this election in Stawell ward, Central ward and Kara Kara ward were the same as the number of vacancies.
The VEC states the election is uncontested and voting is not required.
The following candidates are successful and will be declared elected on or after election day;
Central ward - Kevin Erwin
Kara Kara ward - Tony Driscoll and Karen Hyslop
Stawell ward - Lauren Dempsey, Rob Haswell and Murray Emerson.
At the close of nominations no candidates had nominated for this election in the South West ward. A by-election will be held at a future date to fill the vacancy.
There is no need for voters within South West ward to vote at this time.
