A spokesperson said the checks included shop density limits and social distancing requirements.
The spokesperson also reminded residents it was important to dispose of masks correctly.

"There is also a responsibility to dispose of masks in a safe manner," they said.
"Masks can become contaminated and the guidelines need to be met on how often and how to change masks, disposable or reusable."
