The club announced the decision to its players and members on Wednesday morning.
Teams were training with a season start date of August in the pipeline. Training was cancelled after AFL Wimmera-Mallee advised clubs to immediately stop training until further notice.
Club president Tim Williams said the decision to withdraw was a "tough" call to make, but a decision that he felt was the right one.
"It's not ideal to be travelling from town to town at this time," he said.
"We had all junior teams ready to go to play in the modified competition across both football and netball and we were having lots of numbers at training.
OTHER NEWS:
"The health and safety of our players is the number one priority of the club."
Mr Williams said he felt the football club had a role in the community to play and the decision was the right one for both the club and the community.
"We know players will be disappointed to miss out on a whole season," he said.
"I really understand that. It's so important now as a club for us to keep those players engaged in their chosen sports and support them through what is going to be a difficult time.
"If and when it is safe to do so we will be looking at re-starting training."
Mr Williams said the executive committee of the club would now look towards 2021 and try to minimise the financial impacts of a year without football and netball.

"We aren't alone in this. Every club will be in the same position. It's tough for everyone.
"We have a lot of expenses and no income coming in. We've just got to watch what we're spending and make some decisions on our spending where we can."
