Northern Grampians Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating if a suspicious fire at an Ararat home last weekend is linked to an earlier fire.
Emergency services were called to the Barkly Street property and found it well alight on Saturday 11 July about 1.15am.
The fire was extinguished and there was no damage caused to neighbouring properties.
A crime scene was established and an arson chemist examined the area deemed the fire had been deliberately lit.
Northern Grampians Crime Investigation Unit's Detective Acting Sergeant Jason Boyd is investigating the fire and is keen to hear from anyone who knows anything about either incident at the Victorian style property.
