For returning players, things certainly look different as well when re-commencing training on Sunday.
Training was put on hold due to the restrictions in place from the coronavirus pandemic.
Stations were set up to sanitise hands and a COVID-19 officer ready to take answers to questions about payer's travels and health.
On the park, co-coach Melissa Bibby puts the players through their paces with a number of fitness and skill stations.
Alongside Bibby is Wes Illig, a familiar figure and someone who has been around the club for a long time and has a great insight into each of the existing players within the club.
"It was interesting when we found out the official announcement the season was going to go ahead," Illig said."
"The majority of the girls are excited to play football - they just want to get out there and play.
"The interesting part will be if netball goes ahead or not and see if we pick up some more players from there."
Illig said some players have been still focusing on training during the period where formal training couldn't be conducted.
"Our focus is on developing the younger players who played in the under-13 competition last year and are looking for that next level of football," he said.
"We want to keep them here for five years and ensure there is somewhere for girls to come and play if they want to play football.
"We also need to ensure we have somewhere for the older girls to play so they can continue on doing what they want to do within the sport."
Being one of the only formal competitions announced as proceeding in 2020 so far, Illig said he was undecided in what the outcome of those decisions could look like.
"I'm not sure if it will relate to bigger team numbers or not," he said.
"Most of the clubs across the board gave an indication of how many players they had but it doesn't mean that it will blow out.
"Once we've actually played things might change and I could talk to how much momentum the sport and league gathers."
Stawell Warriors under-18 team trains on Sunday starting at 10am sharp with new players welcome.
