North Park is undergoing an extensive upgrade with a construction of multi-sport, female-friendly and unisex change rooms, as well as other public amenities and social spaces to promote further participation in sports and activities that operate out of the facility.
Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Murray Emerson said the project was on time, and on budget.
"The construction is starting to look like a sporting facility and it's really taking shape," he said.
"To see the building emerging from the ground is very exciting.
"Although there were alternate plans in place, with the cancellation of competition football and netball, it has certainly made the project much easier to manage.
"The weather has been fairly good for this time of year which has helped as well. These constraints are all built into the timeline but any extra is a bonus. The construction is heading towards it's completion date of December this year."
