Scoot Mentha has crossed from rival club Horsham to take the helm at Minyip-Murtoa, a decision she said was incredibly difficult.
After years at the Demons, Mentha said talking to the Burras' newly appointed assistant coach and lifelong friend Emma Taylor was a major factor in her decision.
"To be honest, it was surprising that Minyip-Murtoa came and approached me, and I was actually honoured that they had, considering the success that they had last year," Mentha said.
"It was a huge decision to make on my behalf, having been at Horsham for so long.
"But once I'd actually spoken to Emma Taylor - she was on board and very excited - we decided to come to the decision, and we're thrilled to have the opportunity.
"I'm really looking forward to basically a new adventure."
Mentha said she wished Horsham all the best, and was excited for a new challenge.
"After speaking to Horsham, they have wished me all the best, and likewise from myself, I wish them all the best for the season ahead," she said. "I am really excited and looking forward to the new challenge ahead, meeting new people at the club and helping develop the club's netball.
"It is really exciting times ahead."
I'm really looking forward to basically a new adventure.

2019 premiership coach Billie Bibby will remain at the club as a player, as she continues to rehab from a mid-season knee injury that forced her to coach from the sidelines.
Minyip-Murtoa's netball director Laura Delahunty applauded Bibby for her one season in the job.
"She did a fantastic job, and she's come out of the year as the only Minyip-Murtoa coach to have won a premiership," Delahunty said. "So she walks out with some very high accolades and as a very well respected coach."
Mentha said she was hopeful most of the side was sticking together for a shot at back-to-back premierships.
The A Grade side will be buoyed by the arrival of Mentha's daughter Tamika, who also joins from Horsham.
It makes things a family affair at the Burras, with Scoot, Tamika and Taylor Mentha all involved in the A Grade side.
"I suppose that family connection was part of why I made the decision in the end, so we could be a part of something new and exciting ahead," she said.
