The 30-year-old Ararat man was driving along Lambert Street about 11.30am when he crashed his vehicle.
No one was injured as a result of the crash, which Acting Sergeant Ash Murnane, of Ararat, said was "minor".
Police attended the incident and administered a roadside breath test to the man, Acting Sergeant Murnane said.
"He accompanied members to the Ararat police station and the male allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.190," he said.
"As a result he was processed for drink driving and had his vehicle impounded for a period of 30 days, and will be summoned to court at a later date."
