This has put the Golf side in a vulnerable position going into the last four rounds of the season, Mark Griffit was the big winner for the match with a 24 shot win over Greg Reading.
Ararat was back at home and had a solid win over the bottom side Landsborough, Mick Dowd and John Huxtable both had solid wins for the Ararat side.
Lake Bolac has kept its chances of playing finals this year alive with a great win over Aradale.
The two Park boys were in good touch, with a great win over the highly-rated Gary Jamieson to set up the win.
In the last match, Chally was at full strength and got a great win over the top side Stawell at Stawell. Jessie Austin's rink was the main difference in the match with a 16 shot win over Adrian Troeth, this has given Chally a big boost in its chances of playing finals this season.
The ladder now has Stawell and VRI clear on top of the ladder with a pack of four teams in the hunt for third and fourth position. The upcoming match between these sides is very important in seeing who will make the finals.
DIVISION 2
Ararat VRI at home could not stay in touch with the top side Stawell Gold. Trevor Skurrie's rink was the major difference in the match with a massive 39 shot win over the Arthur Bullow side, the win has placed the Stawell side well clear on top of the ladder.
Stawell Golf Blue was unable to win a rink at home against the visiting Lake Bolac Black side, with all three matches very close, the win has lifted the Black side up to third on the ladder and pushed the Golf side out of the top four.
Ararat Green, at home, played Aradale in the closest match of the round with a 1 shot win going to the visitors, Darrell Baldock was the big winner of the match with a 23 shot win to carry his side to victory.
Bottom side Lake Bolac Red made it a sad day for Golf Gold with a 22 shot win, Jack Veale rolled back the years to play like a teenager to set up a win with a 26 shot win on his rink.
Stawell Blue had a good win at home over Ararat Gold with Terry Griffin and Rita Pyke both having big wins, the win has kept the blue side in second position on the ladder for now.
The ladder has the Stawell Gold side well clear on top of the ladder, Stawell Blue, Bolac Black and Golf Gold are all close on points and make up the top four.
Golf Blue are just outside the four, with a pack of four sides still within reach of securing a finals spot but would need to have a great finish to the season.
