Police are appealing to the public for information after a car was damaged in Stawell.

The owner of the vehicle was asleep inside a Stawell property at about 1.30am on Sunday when the incident occurred.
Stawell police spokesperson said an unknown person or persons had damaged the car by running across the bonnet.
"They've smashed the windscreen, damaged the roof and left the scene," they said.
"If anyone has any information about the incident, or heard anything on the night, they could contact Stawell Police Station on 5358 8222 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000."
