CHRISTMAS shoppers will have another chance to browse for gifts at the Horsham Family Market Twilight Christmas Fair.
The market is a collaboration with Horsham Scouts and will run from 5pm until 9pm on Friday at the Horsham Scout Hall on Baille Street.
Horsham Family Market organiser Cindy Hammond said it would be an "extra special" event in lieu of the regular monthly Sunday market and would feature more than 50 stalls.
"The CFA (Country Fire Authority) will be delivering Santa in a fire truck on the night for us and the Salvation Army band has offered to play Christmas Carols," she said.
"We will also have a potter from the Grampians who will provide 50 plaster stars to paint for the first children to arrive," she said.
Mrs Hammond said there would be other entertainment for children including face painting, a jumping castle and Christmas craft.
She said the market usually had a mix of handmade and second-hand items but the Christmas fair would only feature products from Wimmera artisans and creators.
"In starting the market it really struck me how many amazing creators and designers we have here," she said.
Mrs Hammond moved to Horsham from the Gold Coast this year. She said she started the market because she felt like there weren't many in the region.
She said the market originally took place every two months but stallholders and shoppers voted for it to occur monthly.
"A lot of work goes into running the market," Mrs Hammond said.
She said she had organised a "mega raffle" at the market to raise funds for the CFA during bushfire season.
Mrs Hammond said the market usually directed proceeds to the two Scout groups who run the barbecue and provide the hall hire.
Renee McLean whose children are Horsham Scouts said the funds were needed for the maintenance of the Scout Hall, particularly the bathrooms.
"The toilets haven't changed much since I was there," she said. "I am 40 now and went there (Horsham Scout Hall) when I was 15."
