Social inclusion will be the topic of conversation as residents in the town will have the opportunity to build new friendships, skills and community connections,
Western District MP Jaala Pulford announced the Pomonal Men's Shed would receive $66,272 towards their much needed new shed.
The funding will be used to design and construct a purpose built shed to accommodate all future activities of the Pomonal Men's Shed group.
The wheelchair accessible shed will include wood and metal work areas plus a separate multipurpose space for use as a meeting, recreation or activity room.
Ms Pulford said men's sheds are safe and productive spaces for men to work on common projects, and actively participate in their local community.
"Congratulations to the members of Pomonal Men's Shed group who can now start recruiting new members and plan activities for an expected opening in 2020," Ms Pulford said.
"Men's sheds are vitally important spaces for men in our area to socialise, have a cuppa, learn new skills and give back to the community. I am delighted this funding will help more people and look forward to hearing about the results of this project in the months to come."
Pomonal Men's Shed group spokesman Peter Shelley said the new shed will help promote social inclusion in the Pomonal district.
"We're just delighted that the funding will soon flow for this project and we hope to open the doors in 2020. This is a great thing for men in Pomonal," Mr Shelley said.
