The association hasn't identified an isolated incident, citing the stand is a response to some negative feedback regarding decisions the committee made earlier in the season.
A social media policy is part of the Association by-laws and is available to all clubs associated with the competition.
Committee member Marc Brilliant said the committee felt a reminder was needed to the clubs about the appropriate use of social media.
"The Grampians Cricket Association page is for information sharing only on all topics within the region," he said.
"It's not to be used as a debate page or open for discussion page.
"The committee has discussed this at length at a recent executive meeting and we want this message to get to all clubs. We, as a committee agree to uphold this stance at our end as well."
Brilliant said any issues should be addressed through the appropriate channels.
"Any issues should be raised with the club delegate who should then make the contact via the correct channels through the GCA executive committee," he said.
"We would prefer correspondence in writing, so records can be maintained.
"The committee has made it clear that we will be dealing with all issues within 14 days of notification anything outside of this will be deemed as settled.
"The committee is committed to ensuring this is maintained to keep the season rolling on and without issue.
"Time was an issue in the past, but as a committee, we are dedicated to ensuring issues are resolved in a timely fashion."
Brilliant said negative commentary in the wrong channels does not help the ongoing cause for cricket in the area.
"Cricket in all regional areas is struggling," he said.
"The GCA has a relatively new committee this year with many years of cricket experience and this is something we want to ensure helps promote cricket in the area if used correctly.
"We are dedicated to getting Cricket in the area back on the right track and it's important to ensure we are on top of all these small things which help the bigger picture."
Brilliant said all the committee members were volunteers and decisions are made based on many years of experience in the game.
"It's about getting everything right at all levels," he said.
"We just want people to use their common sense and think or ask before they assume."
Grampians Cricket will implement sanctions for incorrect use of the social media page and any negativity or abuse towards any committee or club member.
"The association will assess each case on its merits but clubs need to be warned that from now on it won't be tolerated," Brilliant said.
"Any negativity towards the GCA will be sanctioned as deemed appropriate by the board.
"We ask clubs and players to use the correct channels.
"We are more than welcome for our decisions to be questioned, that's how we get better.
"We would appreciate all clubs to remind their members that social media is not the place to voice their displeasure or disagreement with any decision that is made."
