Toohey medallist Daniel Mendes leaves the Rats after a four-year stint to join Eastern Football League Division 3 outfit Whitehorse Pioneers.
Mendes will serve as the Whitehorse Pioneers' playing assistant coach on his return to the competition where he won a premiership in 2009 with Vermont.
Daniel's brothers Callum and Nick Mendes have joined Wantirna South for the Eastern Football League Division 1 2020 season.
Former Ararat Football Netball Club president, now secretary, Jamie Toner said it was a chance for the former Rats to focus more on their personal circumstances.
"Players reach a point where they've served the club well and travelling eventually becomes an obstacle with work and careers," he said.
"This is their opportunity to try something else and focus a little bit more on what they're doing."
Daniel Mendes joined the Rats in 2014 and went on to win two club best and fairest awards.
The onballer coaxed Nicholas into joining in 2017 and Callum followed suit in 2019.
The trio were travelling from Melbourne each week.
Ararat will also be without Dylan Shelley, with the interleague representative returning to his hometown club Corio in the Geelong and District Football League.
Elsewhere, the Warrack Eagles will be without the services of homegrown player Jake Peters after his move to Old Collegians in the Warrnambool and District Football League.
Peters was named the Eagles' most consistent player and finished 10th in the Toohey Medal count this season.
Nhill has lost Nicholas Linton for next season, with the former VFL footballer returning to the Essendon District Football League.
Linton - who played eight games for the Tigers this season - will ply his trade with Pascoe Vale.
