Situated outside both TAB outlets in Stawell, volunteers hoped to receive donations from punters on the day.
The fundraiser was well supported with a total of $669.80 was raised. The amount easily surpassed donations from the previous two years.
Organiser Peter Martin said that he and his members were very pleased that once again the Stawell community had generously supported this worthy cause.
"We are grateful to the management of the two TAB sites, Stawell Trotting Club the Gift Hotel for their support," Mr Martin said.
He said that the Club's members had been giving up part of their Cup Day for over 30 years and in that time had raised many thousands of dollars for cancer research.
"It is great that the public, of whom have been touched by cancer, as have many of our members, offer their support every Cup Day," Mr Martin said.
