THE new Beaufort Town Market will open on Saturday, and will launch a pop-up museum to celebrate the life of Cyril Callister, the inventor of Vegemite.

Cyril Callister was born just outside of Beaufort in Chute.
The market will open in The Memorial Gardens from 8am to 1pm, and is being organized by the Beaufort Progress Association.
Besides Vegemite, the market will focus on old-fashioned community spirit with community groups Raglan Country Women's Association and the Raglan Hall and Reserve Committee helping run the event.

Attractions will include children's activities, entertainment by the Beaufort Brass Band, workshops, and a pop-up Devonshire Tea Room.
"We want market goers to experience everything that Beaufort has to offer: the amazing history, the wonderful wines, artisan foods and its growing arts culture," market manager Liza Robinson said.
Entry to the market will be by gold coin entry, which will go towards the Beaufort Men's Shed.
"It's wonderful to see all the community volunteers wanting to contribute to our town's new market," organizer Heather McCracken said.
"It's exactly what we are trying to achieve - an entire town effort."
Local councillor Damian Ferrari and market ambassador Sara Kittlety from Kittlety's Café in Ballarat will officially open the market at 10am.
Forty vendors applied to be a part of the market.
"It was important to us to get the right mix of vendors for a successful market," Ms McCracken said.
"It was also very important to us to ensure there were great fundraising opportunities for our local community groups."
Due to weather, the market will not have as much fresh produce as hoped, but the organizers said fresh produce will increase throughout November and December markets.
The market will also be plastic free, so shoppers are advised to bring their own shopping bags.
The market will continue every fourth Saturday of the month until May 2020.
