The Stawell Interchurch Netball competition will return this season after a group of dedicated parents joined forces to encourage the development of the sport.

The competition had been under threat, with a lack of support forcing missed seasons in the past four years.
A new committee formed earlier this year, in response to calls from parents and coaches who were advocating for the competition's return.
"We have a fantastic group of parents who want to see the sport succeed in Stawell," incoming president Amber Mitchell said.
"While titles were given to everyone for our official incorporation, we are all pitching in to help one another.
"It's about getting children active and involved. The competition is a vital part of the development of players who want to continue to play the sport."
Mrs Mitchell said since registrations had opened for the competition, the support had been overwhelming.
"We've had older junior girls who are playing netball at clubs offer to help with the younger players," she said.
"It's a classic demonstration of how small towns can band together and help out when there is a clear need for something to be done.
"All parents are busy. Like everything, as times change, so do associations or competitions which rely solely on volunteers.
"The committee is hoping with the support of older junior players and other parent support we can get the competition up and running and back to seeing full netball courts to enhance the development in the players' skills."
Swifts netballer Miranda Holden, 17, was one of the many junior players who offered to help the association.
"The competition is a way for us to keep fit over summer and also a chance to help teach some players who will one day become our teammates in senior netball," she said.
Warriors' junior coach Kerri Taylor said netball offered unique learning opportunities.
"It helps develop gross motor skills in younger children," she said. "As young adults, netball is a great way to meet new people if you are new to a town or go away and study."
The competition is on Wednesday nights from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, beginning in week one of term four.
