For the first time ever, the kindergarten was graded as exceeding standards set by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority.
There are four rankings; significant improvement required, working towards meeting the framework, meeting the standards and exceeding standards.
The framework for the assessment focuses on seven key quality areas, with Cooinda exceeding the standard in five of those categories.
Cooinda Parents Advisory Group member Julie McClure said the ranking is a positive sign for the kinder.
"It shows it is always improving and we have been recognised for those improvements," she said.
"It is very difficult to get an exceeding rating so it is a major achievement.
"It is a privilege to receive this rating and a privilege to be able to provide such a quality service to the community."
