Ararat's Ella Wood and Isabella Simmons celebrated a win with their under-18 side.

Simmons bagged a goal in the 61-19 victory against Queensland at Metricon Stadium on Monday, missing the game on Wednesday.

The Vic Country side defeated the Eastern Allies on Wednesday 6.6 (42) to 2.0 (12).

"As I am a bottom-aged player we miss a game so the top-aged players get to play all the games," she said.

"I was a bit disappointed with how I played on Monday. I still felt I contributed though.

"It just probably wasn't my best game - I'm keen to make my last game on Friday better and go really hard."

When talking about her teammate Wood, Simmons said she felt she was having a great campaign.

"It was unfortunate Ella missed the first game against Metro at the end of June," Simmons said.

"She's really lifted and played pretty well in both of the games so far in round two."

Playing at centre-half forward, Simmons said it was a similar position to where she plays.

"I normally play a high forward," she said.

"At the Rebels, I played a bit on the wing as well."

The 17-year-old said she enjoyed an education session which was hosted on Tuesday.

"There was information about what is involved about getting drafted," she said.

"There was a focus on attitude and lifestyle choices like social media and making sure we do the right thing.

"All the teams across the country were involved with the talks - it has been a pretty busy week."

Simmons said it was great to catch up with players from other states after meeting them at other events.

"I did the national academy last year and a camp earlier this year where I met some players," she said.

Despite not being eligible for the draft in 2019, Simmons said she was excited about the future.

"There hasn't been much talk about it to me because of my age," she said.

"I'm sure there will be more discussions around it next year when I become eligible for the draft.

"It's a pretty cool opportunity for any girls wanting to play football."

Simmons said her focus for the remainder of 2019 would be to keep improving.

"I've learnt so much this week already," she said.

"To put that together with some camps I have been on I feel like it's really helped me improve.

"I think I'll go and train with the Stawell Warriors and just joined a partnership with Stawell Fitness."
