Here's to our great and very humble volunteers.
Trevor Austerberry, better known as "Burger", is from Paradise, an easy 5km drive north of Navarre.
Burger grew up playing football for Navarre and played in the club's senior and reserve premierships through the 1980s and early 1990s.
But for the last 30-odd years, Burger's been the friendly face behind the club's scoreboard.
Every week, no matter the weather, Burger is there for the early games of under 11s at 9am right through to the end of the senior game at about 5.30pm.
When asked why he turns up week after week - and even in the freezing cold - to look after the scoreboard, Burger says with a shrugged: "Cause I love it".
And that's what being a good club person is all about.
Last Saturday, the Grasshoppers travelled to Harcourt in what was a crucial match-up between the eight and ninth-placed sides on the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football and Netball League ladder.
However, with the inclusion of ex-AFL star Barry Hall, it was a completely different Harcourt side that took to the field and it ran out convincing winners.
Unsurprisingly, Hall's physical dominance was on show. The former St Kilda, Sydney and Western Bulldogs key forward finished with 11 goals for the afternoon, looking a class above and showing many of the skills he displayed in the AFL.
With six rounds remaining, Navarre currently sits ninth on the ladder; four points and 30 per cent shy of eighth-placed Avoca.
The Grasshoppers are facing the prospect of missing finals for the first time since crossing over to the MCDFNL in 2011.
This week, Navarre travels to Newstead with hopes of building some much needed momentum heading into the later stages of the home and away season.
