The free practical workshops are being rolled out by the non-profit organisation Good Shepherd Microfinance, with one of the first at Stawell on Wednesday June 19.
Facilitator Maggie Mildenhall said the workshops were funded by the Department of Health and Human Services to help women on low incomes to build their financial capacity.
"We want women to have the skills to cut household costs, plan for emergencies and understand the pitfalls of using credit," Ms Mildenhall said.
"But we know that, even with the best planning, unexpected bills come up. So, we also talk about the wide range of support that is available such as the No Interest Loan Scheme and the National Debt Helpline, which offers people free financial counselling."
Ms Mildenhall said the workshop would consider local needs.
"We have worked closely with Grampians Community Health to address the specific challenges women here might face and help them to build a bright financial future," Ms Mildenhall said.
The free workshop will be hosted at Stawell Health & Community Centre, 8-22 Patrick Street, Stawell from 10am-12.30pm with free child care is available and lunch will be provided.
Interested participants need to register by calling 5358 7400.
