Making the most of the Panthers inaccuracy around the goals, the Baggies applied scoreboard pressure when the opportunity presented itself.
At quarter-time Swifts went in with a six-point lead, despite having half the amount of scoring shots.
"We were able to work back into the game, take control and make the most of the opportunities," Swifts co-coach Scott Carey said.
"There was the scoring end of the day with the wind making it hard to push the ball up one end. Rupanyup really lifted their pressure in the third quarter and we weren't able to control the game like we would have wanted."
Swifts' full forward Ben Martin played in his first game back after injury and was rewarded with four goals for his efforts.
"He is a big target for us up forward and one of the smarter footballers I have ever played with," Carey said.
"It was a massive inclusion for us and gives us back that bit of depth as well."
Ruckman Brett Hargreaves was named in the best for the Baggies - Carey said he thought it was one of the recruits better games of the year.
"He had a huge game in the ruck and gave us first use of the ball," he said.
"He was a big presence across half-forward. The number of contested marks he took was excellent."
Carey said co-coach Daniel Parkin provided a calming influence when needed, during the game.
"That's what he does for our team and plays a vital part in our structure," he said.
"I think another standout was Zayne Hall on the wing. He was able to put pressure on and use the ball extremely well when he got the opportunity."
The Baggies finished the game off with a full bench for the first time this season.
"We've walked away from the game injury free which is a relief," Carey said.
Rupanyup Jack Musgrove said his team walked away from the game disappointed.
"We were right with them the whole game," he said.

"Obviously the scoreboard didn't show that. We kicked a lot of points which probably didn't help.
"They were very good on the outside all game - it was good of our boys to match them with that but we couldn't finish towards the end.
Musgrove said the biggest thing to focus on for the team moving forward was to play quarters out to the end.
"A lot of their goals were scored in the last five minutes of quarters," he said.
"We didn't just match it with them for that - if that's just fitness or work rate we really need to improve on that."
