Economist Gitanas Nauseda has won Lithuania's presidential run-off poll with almost 70 per cent of the vote after more than 80 per cent of ballots were counted, the country's Election Commission says.

Nauseda's lead over former finance minister Ingrida Simonyte was so great he could not be beaten, and Simonyte conceded defeat on Sunday.
No clear winner emerged in the first round of voting two weeks ago in the Baltic state, which has close to 2.5 million eligible voters.
Simonyte finished narrowly ahead in the first vote, but Nauseda was thought to be in a better position in the run-off because he appeals to a broad voter base.
According to the constitution, President Dalia Grybauskaite could not stand for re-election after two five-year terms in office.
Nauseda will take office on July 12.
Nauseda is non-partisan, considered moderate and has made a name for himself in Lithuania with clear positions on economic and financial issues. In the campaign, his goals were to build a "welfare state" and "more political peace."
The head of state in Lithuania has a largely symbolic role, but does have certain powers in foreign and defence policy.
