About 800 people have already pre-registered for the annual walking and running event which takes place in and around Halls Gap.
Run The Gap returns for its eighth installment, with committee member Will Hudson firmly of the belief this weekend will be the best yet.
"Things are looking really positive," he said.
"With pre-registrations up and entries still open on the weekend we will have plenty of numbers.
"Things have been fairly consistent over previous years but a bit of growth is always great.
"The event is tried and tested and we know it works. We have made a few upgrades behind the scenes to make things smoother and we will also have a few vendors this year to add to the atmosphere."
Mr Hudson, who is also a business owner in Halls Gap, said the event is a big one for the town - especially out of peak tourism season.
"It is a fantastic event for the local community. It gives a good boost to accommodation and hospitality in the town," he said.
Four events will take place this weekend, with people able to participate in a six kilometre walk or run, 12km run or 21km run.
