Community members of all ages took time out of their day for a 6am dawn service and an 11am commemoration ceremony on Stawell's Main Street.
A service was also held at Great Western on Thursday morning.
Stawell RSL acting president Graeme Cox said he was happy to see the turnout at the services.
"We had a stack of people at all of them," he said.
"One of the best things to see is the amount of kids that turn up."
Veterans and family members marched down Stawell's Main Street to the 11am service which was well attended by hundreds of community members.
Mr Cox and Stawell RSL secretary Des Leonard also organised services at Eventide Homes and Macpherson Smith Nursing Home on Wednesday for community members who could not attend on Thursday.
Mr Cox said despite the 100 year anniversary of World War I concluding last year, crowd numbers were still strong.
"Over the last 12 years or so it has just grown and grown, regardless of anniversaries," he said.
"It warms the heart to see the community care about such a special day."
