Ararat Emergency Relief will receive $88,000 over four years.

The organisation provides financial and material assistance to residents, as well as coordinating an annual Christmas toy drive, and is comprised of five local churches in Ararat.

"I am very happy to see this funding go to Ararat Emergency Relief so they can continue their work in supporting those in our community who are doing it tough," Mr Tehan said.

Ararat Ladies Probus Club would receive $3,000 to help them with hall hire, transport for their members to meetings, and a new printer for their newsletter.

"Isolation in regional communities is a massive challenge, which is why organisations like the Ararat Ladies Probus Club are so important. They help keep people connected and that really creates a strong sense of community," Mr Tehan said.

Greenhill Lake in Ararat would receive $5000 to purchase a brand new mower to maintain the playground and surrounds.

Greenhill Lake volunteer John Hunt said the news was "fantastic."

"It just gives more equipment, more maintenance, better and safer equipment and you do more in a shorter period of time," he said.

"A lot of the board members are in an older demographic so better equipment is easier for people to use."

Mr Tehan's final stop was at the Ararat Lawn Tennis Club, where he announced the club would receive $2100 to upgrade the kitchen.

"The Ararat Lawn Tennis club is a wonderful facility, serving as a hub for tennis from right around the region. But the kitchen in their club house is out-of-date," Mr Tehan said.
