The club won all grades of netball, making its best start in the league ever.
All games were toughly contested, but Great Western managed to come out on top in all games for the day; coaches extremely happy with their teams.
The under 16 football team went down, but the players certainly tried their hardest and fought it out to the end.
The reserves game ended in a dramatic draw after Great Western enjoyed a good lead at half-time.
The seniors was a close affair that could have gone either way. Great Western fought to the very end to finish on top.
The club was extremely happy with all the new players that debuted on the day, but it was evident that a large crowd was there to watch the Tiwi boys play. Great Western has an affiliation with the Tiwi Island and currently has three players in the side, with another three to arrive in the coming weeks.
The club congratulated Tim Shalders, who played his 250th game for Great Western.
Shalders started his career at the club as a junior and has played both reserves and seniors over the years.
He has won many awards over that time, but more importantly he has been an active club member that always puts his hand up to help whenever needed.
Shalders now has a young family of his own and the club is very keen for them to start playing.
