OZACT returns to Heatherlie Quarry in the Grampians National Park this April for their annual autumn Shakespeare adventure, with an exciting new production of Much Ado About Nothing.
In Much Ado About Nothing the road to "true love" never does run smooth.
This is Shakespeare's strategic guide to the 'battle between the sexes', loaded with comic incident, bumbling security guards, squabbling brothers, and mismatched lovers.
The play is full of suspense, high drama and delightful comedy, brought to life with powerful acting and exquisite costumes.
OZACT was founded in 1996 by Bruce Widdop with a dream to combine Shakespeare's greatest works with Australia's love for the great outdoors.
Since then, the company has been traveling South Eastern Australia and staging Shakespeare's plays in some of the most spectacular garden, heritage and wilderness settings, and has produced more than 50 seasons of Shakespeare and more than 400 performances in more than 23 different iconic locations.
"The Grampians have been our autumn home since OZACT's first year in 1996, and we are excited to bring Much Ado About Nothing to the Grampians as part of our our Autumn tour of Shakespeare in the Great Outdoors," founder and artistic director Bruce Widdop said.
Heatherlie Quarry is a spectacular feature of the Grampians National Park, nestled beneath the rugged twin peaks of Mount Difficult, a magical area of sheer rock faces, historic stone buildings and dramatic mountain scenery.
The architectural and natural elements of the setting provide a perfect setting for Shakespeare's greatest works.
The production is directed by Bruce Widdop and Matthew Young, the cast and crew includes: Bruce Widdop, Andy Delves, Matthew Young, Sorcha Breen, Michael Davidson, William Lark, Luke Ingham, Eleanor Ruth, Stephanie van Rekum Ayres and Lisa Widdop.
So share with OZACT Shakespeare's autumn frolic Much Ado About Nothing in the spectacular surrounds of Heatherlie Quarry in the Grampians National Park.
