District 16 operations officer Neville Collins said Country Fire Authority has implemented schedule 13 permit burns in the Northern Grampians Shire.
"We commenced permit burns on March 12 for landowners," he said.
"There are a lot of restrictions and conditions that apply on what they can and can't do.
"We are still in the fire danger period and will be until May 1. These permits will allow farmers to do stubble burning under very strict guidelines."
Residents can apply for a permit through the Northern Grampians Shire Council website.
The website reads "please allow up to 5 working days for your application to be processed. Ensure the Location of Burn information is thorough and accurate. Missing or vague information will slow down the processing of your application."
