A 60-year-old woman returned a blood alcohol reading of .164 in St Arnaud at about 1.30am on Saturday morning.
"She was interviewed for drink driving and her licence was suspended on the spot," St Arnaud Sergeant Bill Alford said.
"We are in the process of getting her vehicle impounded.
"It is disappointing to see someone take to the roads after drinking so much and risking not only their life but the lives of others."
